Clifford Stermer, M.D.

Founder and Medical Director, One Rheumatology

Dr. Clifford Stermer is Board-Certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine, with advanced training in diagnosing and managing complex autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions. He is the Founder and Medical Director of One Rheumatology, a center of excellence committed to providing the best patient care possible while advancing the science of rheumatology through onsite clinical trials and research.

 

Dr. Stermer serves as lead investigator for multiple studies aimed at improving treatment options and outcomes. Prior to relocating to Florida, he was Medical Director for New Mexico’s largest medical group, leading a team of nine Rheumatologists. He was named Albuquerque’s Top Rheumatologist three years in a row and has since been voted one of Palm Beach County’s Top Rheumatologists.

 

He completed his Internal Medicine residency at NYU Woodhull and Rheumatology fellowship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He earned his M.D. from St. George’s University and his undergraduate degree from Concordia University in Canada.

 

Originally from Montreal, Dr. Stermer moved to Palm Beach Gardens with his family in 2022 to bring his vision for innovative, compassionate, and research-driven care to the South Florida community.

Britni Saint John
MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner

Britni began her nursing career in 2008 at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, specializing in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Trauma. She earned her Master’s in Nursing from Simmons College and became a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in 2016.

 

Before joining One Rheumatology in 2023, Britni spent seven years in primary care in Boca Raton. Britni’s aptitude for complex case management, combined with her exceptionally positive attitude, helps make One Rheumatology the leading center for treatment of autoimmune conditions in Florida.

 

Outside of work, Britni and her husband enjoy traveling, hiking, and cooking.

Jessika Widerman
APRN, FNP-C

Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner

Jessika brings over a decade of diverse clinical experience to One Rheumatology, with a background spanning urgent care, infusion therapy, functional medicine, and aesthetics.

 

As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she has treated patients across the lifespan and is highly skilled in managing autoimmune conditions, IV biologic therapies, and holistic wellness. Her expertise is matched by a compassionate, patient-first approach and a deep commitment to integrative care.

 

Jessika’s well-rounded career—from emergency departments in New York to specialized care in South Florida—makes her a valued addition to our team and a trusted provider for our patients.

Infusion Nurse

Jessica runs our leading-edge infusion suite here at One Rheumatology. Jessica is a highly-skilled registered nurse with over a decade of experience providing exceptional care to patients in outpatient, emergency and procedural settings.

 

Prior to joining One Rheumatology, Jessica held positions as an endoscopy pre and post procedure RN and an emergency department nurse. Jessica is an IV/ port and PICC expert!

Elizabeth Santiago

Elizabeth Santiago

Chief Medical Assistant

Elizabeth is One Rheumatology’s lead medical assistant and our very first hire. A vital point of contact for our patients, Liz plays a key role in ensuring the practice runs seamlessly each day.

 

She brings over 17 years of experience in both clinical and administrative roles, most recently as lead medical assistant at St. Joseph’s Hospital in New Jersey, overseeing 22 subspecialties. Before that, she managed the OB-GYN prenatal unit for 7 years.

 

Fluent in Spanish, Liz is happy to assist our Spanish-speaking families. Outside of work, she’s a proud mom of three and grandma of two

Delano Brooks,  M.D., M.P.H

Research Site Coordinator

Delano Brooks is a medical doctor and clinical epidemiologist serving as the lead research assistant at One Rheumatology. He earned his M.D. from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica and completed his Master of Public Health in Epidemiology at the University of Florida.

 

Delano brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and research insight, overseeing all aspects of our clinical trials—from patient screening and enrollment to regulatory compliance and sponsor coordination. His leadership ensures the integrity of our research program and helps drive forward the science of rheumatology.

Gabby Mackey

Medical Receptionist

Gabby is the first friendly face you’ll meet at One Rheumatology. With over 10 years of healthcare experience in both clinical and administrative roles, she ensures our front office runs smoothly and patients feel welcomed from the moment they arrive.

 

Previously, Gabby worked with AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Coastal Vein and Vascular Specialists, where she streamlined patient scheduling, managed front desk operations, and supported care teams.

 

She holds a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Management from Palm Beach State College and is currently pursuing her MBA in Healthcare Management.

 

Gabby brings positivity, professionalism, and efficiency to every patient interaction.

Desmond Vereen

Medical Assistant

With over a decade of clinical and administrative experience, Desmond brings skill and heart to the One Rheumatology team.

 

Known for his precision in phlebotomy, patient care coordination, and front-office efficiency, Desmond supports every step of the patient journey. His background spans urgent care, endocrinology, family medicine, and rheumatology, where he consistently provides high-quality care.

 

Whether drawing labs, assisting with procedures, or ensuring seamless rooming, Desmond is dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience. We’re proud to have his warmth, expertise, and professionalism as part of our team.

Nakiyah Nelson

Nakiyah Nelson 

Front Office

Nakiyah is One Rheumatology’s front desk receptionist, our director of first impressions dedicated to ensuring a smooth check-in process for all of our patients. 

 

Prior to joining our clinic, Nakiyah worked as patient service coordinator at a West Palm Beach vein specialist. 

 

Beyond One Rheumatology, Nakiyah is also studying for her BA in Business at Palm Beach State College.
