What Happens During Your Visit?
1. Check-in and review
2. Nurse assessment
Our team will confirm your insurance, prior authorization, consent forms, medication plan, and any required copay or cost information.
Your infusion nurse will review recent symptoms, infections, medication changes, and check your vital signs before treatment begins.
3. IV placement
The IV start usually feels like a brief pinch. Once it is placed, you can relax in the infusion chair.
4. Infusion and monitoring
Your nurse will monitor you throughout the treatment. Please let us know right away if you feel flushed, itchy, dizzy, short of breath, uncomfortable, or simply “not quite right.”
5. Wrap-up and next steps
Before you leave, we will review how you felt, when to call the office, and when your next infusion should be scheduled.

How Long Will It Take?
Infusion times vary by medication. Some treatments take under an hour, while others may take several hours. First infusions can take longer because we monitor your response carefully.
After Your Infusion
Many patients return to their normal routine the same day, though some feel tired and prefer to take it easy. Your care team will review any medication-specific instructions before you leave.
Questions Before Your Appointment?
Please text or call One Rheumatology before your visit if you have questions about timing, medications, insurance authorization, cost, or what to expect.
